Meet Drs. Chenet or Yu
Dear Dr. Wilson’s patients and their families,
Our names are Derek Chenet and Veronica Yu, and we feel incredibly fortunate and honored that Dr Wilson has entrusted us with your dental care. After getting to know Dr Wilson over the last year and realizing that our values and treatment philosophies align, we all feel this transition makes sense. In our search for the “right” practice, we wanted to find an office that is patient centered, values the latest technology and advancements in dentistry, and provides high quality and lasting dentistry. That is exactly what Dr Wilson has built, and we are excited to continue that legacy.
Dr. Yu, a native of Madison CT, is delighted to return to the Shoreline with her family to serve the community she holds dear to her heart. After graduating from Brown University, Dr. Yu graduated with honors from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She then completed a general practice residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Yu, known for her gentle touch and demeanor, appreciates getting to know each of her patients and improving their oral healthcare. She also enjoys educating her patients on the links between oral health and one’s overall health; she applied her passion for education as an instructor at the hygiene school at Eastern Florida State College. Dr. Yu is well-versed in CAD/CAM technology, and is an Invisalign certified provider.
Dr. Chenet – not originally from Connecticut – is loving his life here much to his wife’s delight! He graduated from Duke University before moving to New York City. There, he graduated with honors from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine where he met his lovely wife, Veronica. Afterwards, he completed a two year general practice residency at the Bronx VA Medical Center where he received extensive training in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and dental implants. Since then, Dr Chenet has strived to stay at the forefront of dentistry and has become a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a member of Academy of Osseointegration, a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Spear Faculty Club member. After practicing in Florida, he decided he wanted to move to the shoreline of Connecticut where his wife grew up. He is so happy to call the Nutmeg State home – just give him some tips to survive the winter. He is excited to bring new, cutting-edge technologies like dental photography, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing to the practice.
In our spare time we enjoy cooking together, watching sports – especially tennis for Dr Yu – and hiking and exploring new areas of Connecticut. Lately, we devote most of our time to our daughter, Evelyn. If you would like to learn more about us, please read our biographies on the office website.
